Smashed Sofa & Crazy Collies

This weekend has been super busy. First a quick update on Candy, She is still limping as she doesnt know when to stop running around like a nutjob! We had her sister round on Friday as the Campion’s went away to London for the weekend. Nick enjoyed it but the little Collies only stopped playing when they were demanding attention!

Daft collies!

Nick has managed to fit the Radiator in the bathroom, it looks lovely. We also now have some pictures on the wall so it breaks up the white walls and we have a door on the cupboard that actually opens and closes, without the risk of knocking you out! While Nick was busy doing all that I have finished the second coat of paint in the Nursery. It is now a store room so we can work on the living room.

We had our first lot of Fireworks as well this weekend which scared the life out of poor Candy. I wrapped her in my t-shirt as well and using both our dressing gowns in the hopes of calming her down. She was sat next to me on the floor and her whole body was shaking. As I was at such a loss I googled things to do and music came up as one so I played some music that is specially created to calm dogs down during fireworks and within minutes she was lying next to me asleep! Fingers are crossed it works next time there are fireworks and isn’t just a one hit wonder 🙂

On Sunday, we had some help from Will and Tanya as we took apart the corner sofa and it was taken to the tip for recycling. Then we cleared as much stuff out of the living room as possible and put it into the nursery. While they were at the Tip I built the side sleeper and pushchair 🙂 I am super happy with them, the cot is so quick and easy to put up and down. It is also pretty sturdy so fingers are crossed Candy’s wiggly butt doesnt knock it over. I also took the girls round the block with the pushchair so they can get used to the noise of the wheels and I can get used to trying to control the pushchair and the dogs. It went well but will try it a few more times going further to just make sure.

Little Fidget is kicking me a lot more now, feeling a lot of pressure on my tummy and it is rather uncomfortable at times, but its nice to have the movements there. I read that the ‘Dad’ would now be able to hear baby’s heartbeat if he puts his ear to the tummy. Nick has tried this twice… both times he has heard a swoosh and been kicked in the ear, no heartbeat has been heard yet haha I doubt I am going to be able to persuade him to keep trying. I would love to be able to say its all starting to become real now but it isn’t. Even after taking the dogs out with the pushchair I still don’t think I have fully accepted there is going to be a little squishy human to look after shortly. Bump is really getting Big now.
